Nan Wang
I create art that reflects quiet observation and emotional clarity. Trained in oil painting, watercolor, and linoleum printmaking, I’ve come to see printmaking as my primary language. The stark contrast of black and white in linocuts speaks to me more powerfully than any color — it distills form, emotion, and rhythm into their purest essence. Much of my inspiration comes from nature: the curve of a petal, the shifting light, the way stillness carries meaning. Through carving and printing, I aim to capture those subtle moments that often go unnoticed, transforming them into something both simple and enduring.
