If artwork is a copy of another individual’s photograph or artwork, that individual must be cited. For example: Artwork based on an oil painting of “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo DaVinci.
SIZE & WEIGHT: If outside frame or substrate material exceeds size: 28 inches wide or weighs more than 10 pounds, please contact show coordinator: Jen Huber at JenH@GalleryDaVinci.com.
FRAMING GUIDELINES:
These guidelines are intended to help present your art in the best possible way. Paintings considered unsafe for hanging may be disqualified at the discretion of the show organizers.
Sturdy frames in good condition. Plexiglas (acrylic) covering recommended for vulnerable (paper, etc.) framed pieces. We accept glass, but note it adds to the overall weight.
Backing material recommended: foam board or acid-free material
Picture frame hangers must be D-ring flush type; no sawtooth, eye hooks or clamps.
Wire must be fastened securely with wire ends taped. The wire must not be visible above the frame when hanging. Industry standard is to set the wire 1/3 from the top of the frame.
Paintings on gallery-wrapped canvas, Aqua-board (or similar surface), cradled panels and varnished/finished protective coating may be displayed without acrylic covering but must still be framed and wired with D-ring hangers. We prefer a minimum depth of 1-inch from the wall.
Clearly label your painting: Artist, Title, and medium on the BACK of your artwork.
ONLINE SALES:
All artwork displayed in the Member Show will be included for online sales. Paintings listed by the Artist in their inventory but without an image or a poor-quality image will not appear on the website for sale.
For best digital image quality, we recommend 1200 pixels on the longest side; one painting per file.
Show image only, without mat and frame.
Name your artwork file as: Artist name_artwork title. (for example: Leonard0_MonaLisa.jpg)
Email your images to JenH@GalleryDaVinci.com with “New Beginnings” in the subject line.
SALES:
The sale of all artworks will be handled by Gallery DaVinci. There will be a 25% commission for Gallery DaVinci Members and 35% commission for Non-Members on sales. Gallery DaVinci collects and reports the sales tax (10.25%).
Gallery DaVinci does not ship artwork to buyers. All packaging, shipping, and insurance of artwork sold at Gallery DaVinci will be paid for and handled by the Artist.
